Trademarks

The code of Lampo is free software under the AGPL-3.0. The license covers the code; it doesn't grant rights to the project's name or logo. This page says how you may use them, so that people can always tell the official project apart from forks and services built on it.

The project's name is Lampo, and its logo is the lowercase wordmark lampo whose last letter is a frame with an orange window, together with that frame alone as the mark (the files are in docs/brand/). This policy covers those two and nothing else. The technical name the tool had before, video-review (with its vr command and VR_* settings, still accepted), is a plain description of what the tool does: it is not claimed, and forks may keep it.

Fine without asking:

  • saying that your product or service is based on, compatible with or uses Lampo;
  • writing about the project, teaching it, and linking to it, with the logo from docs/brand/ unchanged;
  • using the name for an unmodified copy of the project, or for a package of it that makes no changes beyond what's needed to build and run it.

Please ask first:

  • using the name or logo for a modified version you distribute, or for a hosted service. Name your fork or service differently, and describe it as "based on Lampo";
  • using the name or logo in a domain name, a product name or a company name;
  • changing the logo (its colours, its lettering, the frame) or making something that looks like it;
  • merchandise.

Don't use the name or logo in a way that suggests the maintainers endorse or run something they don't.

The logo's lettering is derived from the Norican typeface (SIL Open Font License 1.1, see docs/brand/OFL-Norican.txt); the font's licence covers the font, and this policy covers the logo made from it. The marks of other companies the app shows next to connected agents (Claude, Cursor, Gemini, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI, Windsurf, Zed) and next to where a post goes (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook) belong to their owners and are used only to name those integrations; see NOTICE.md.
